Neurofeedback For A Better Life
Does your brain feel tired, wired, sluggish, or hyper? Have you been searching for support that does not include medications? Neurofeedback is your solution! With advanced technologies, we can teach your brain to relax, wake up, or find balance to optimize your general performance and life.
Your brain is the central command center for your body. If your brain is off, then your life is off. Neurofeedback (also known as EEG-biofeedback or neurotherapy) allows us to gently train your brain and improve its function. You deserve to live better, and your brain health might be your ticket to that life.

Imagine that your brain is a symphony, and each brain wave is an instrument. If the piano is playing off key and at the wrong speed, that is primary sound you are going to hear. Your brain works the same way. If one wave is overpowering all others, or if it is not in sync with them, then you have a problem. Neurofeedback allows us to tune your brain back into a proper symphony so that your true personality and ability can be expressed. Additionally, the tools you learn during your training will continue to support you the rest of your life.
Your brain might not be at its full potential due to Illness, toxins, or other events in your life. Neurofeedback allows your brain to move back in a positive direction by teaching it how to self-regulate. It is a powerful alternative to medication or other therapies that have not worked in the past, and it works to correct the underlying cause of your suffering instead of just slapping on a bandaid.

Psychotherapy and medication are often the preferred treatment for any mental health condition. Unfortunately, medication not only impacts your entire brain, but also your entire body! Psychotherapy is a great intervention for some, but you may have found that there is a core issue that talking cannot treat. Neurofeedback is a non-invasive method to regulate your brain function, and it gives you direct access to the deeper functions of your brain.
What to Expect in Session
Your first neurofeedback session is focused on developing your treatment goals and identifying which areas of your brain are likely dysregulated. Once a plan is created, you can begin training. There is a comfortable recliner for your use during sessions, and sensors are placed on your head at the designated sites based on your treatment goals. There is an electroencephalogram (EEG) machine on the back of the chair that reads your brainwaves, sends that data to the computer for analysis, and displays it on a screen in front of you. Neurofeedback sessions range from 15-45 minutes long and are generally offered between 1 and 3 times per week. Most clients report noticing benefits within 1-5 sessions, and treatment is usually a minimum of 20 sessions in order for permanent changes to occur.
Neurofeedback & Adolescents
During neurofeedback sessions, the clinician is watching your brainwaves closely and monitoring any irregular activity. Because this technique offers a window into the brain, it does not require a client to engage in the same manner as psychotherapy. In fact, because talking and sharing is not necessary in treatment, many adolescents and children prefer neurofeedback. This may also appeal to adults who have been made to share their story with multiple providers over the years, people who experienced trauma, or even simply more introverted people.
Long Lasting Treatment
Unlike other treatments with homework or skills that you learn and must apply in your life, neurofeedback relies on subconscious processes to relieve suffering. Your brain is equipped with healthy and unhealthy pathways made from neurons and synapses. When these pathways are activated, you behave, think, or feel a particular way. Unfortunately, for a variety of reasons, the unhealthy pathways in the brain can become the default while the healthy ones lay dormant. Each session of neurofeedback works to wake up the healthy pathways. As these healthy pathways become stronger (a process known as myelination of the synapses) the unhealthy ones weaken and eventually the brain changes its default mode.
Map Your Brain!
Getting a brain map (or QEEG) can help speed up your treatment and provide a very valuable analysis.
